The Criminal Investigations Department is now awaiting the military legal unit's reply whether the soldier implicated in the Nimilote Verebasaga murder case will be tried in the criminal court or court martial.

Director CID ASP Waisea Vakamocea told Village News that they will now await the military's legal unit and the Director of Public Prosecutions office to direct the next move.

ASP Vakamocea said they will act on the legal advice given to them by the DPP after he meets the military.

When questioned by Village News on why police will await the DPP to give the directives, Vakamocea replied that the directive to charge the Private came from the DPP and they will now abide by the advice given to them by DPP.

Meanwhile, police submitted the Tevita Malasebe file to the DPP's office yesterday afternoon after extensive investigations.

Nine police officers have been implicated in the brutal killing of Malasebe who died in the custody of Valelevu Police.
