The sound quality and signal strength of Communications Fiji Limited's five radio stations, Legend FM, FM96, Viti FM, Navtarang and Sargam has been significantly boosted after a major transmission upgrade costing half a million dollars.

After months of work, a new 60 metre radio mast has been built to replace the previous mast up in the highlands of Nakobalevu, Colo-i-Suva.

The main radio mast which transmits our signals to other transmitter sites around Fiji is now the highest point up in Nakobalevu based on its current location.

The five stations have now switched over to the new 60 metre mast.

CFL's Senior Engineer Transmission and one of the top transmission engineers in the South Pacific Shiv Nath said the equipment was fabricated and shipped from Malaysia to ensure it is able to sustain hurricane force winds and the new antennas were brought in from Australia.
