CFL Scoops Nine Awards
They walked away with a total of nine awards in the Radio Journalism and Advertising category.
News Director Vijay Narayan won awards for Best Single News Report, Best News Coverage of a Single Event, Best Radio News Presenter and Radio Journalist of the Year.
Creative Director Dave Lavaki won three awards for Best Script Writing in a Radio Advertisement, Best Use of Talent and the Best Radio Advertisement.
Viti FM presenter Mikaele Kaloucava won an award for the Best Radio Sports Personality and Dennis Prasad won an award for the Best Work in Production Advertising.
The Lifetime Achievement Award for journalists and inducted into the Hall of Fame was given to Vijendra Kumar who had served the Fiji Media Council for a long time and who was also the first local to become the editor of the Fiji Times and the Robert Keith Award for Outstanding Journalism went to deported Fiji Sun publisher Russell Hunter.
Outstanding Radio Journalist of the Year at the Fiji Awards for Media Excellence and Fijivillage News Director Vijay Narayan who scooped the award for a third consecutive time said this win was show of one’s neutrality.
Meanwhile, Dave Lavaki, Creative Director for Communications Fiji Limited, who walked away a winner in the Radio category for Script Writing, Best Use of Talent and for the Best Radio Advertisement said that winning last night was a big surprise and would have been impossible without the CFL family.
