The generosity of people around the country was evident with $135,000 raised through the appeal to Get The Children Back To School.
The appeal organized by Communications Fiji Limited (CFL) Radio Station, Legend FM, its sister stations and our website fijivillage.com had teams in various locations in Nadi, Ba, Lautoka, Sigatoka, Labasa, Savusavu and Suva.
Organizer and Navtarang Programs Director Satya Nand said the amount excludes the donations that had come from the bank account.
Nand had thanked the people of Fiji in believing in the organizers Communications Fiji Limited (CFL) for a job well done.
According to Nand, there is a plan in place as to how affected children will be provided help through the collected money.
The amount raised will be handed over to Save the Children Fiji who will then assist children in the flood affected areas, to get back to school on Tuesday.
