CCTV cameras to be installed in the city
This initiative will be launched on 14th December and run until 2012.
The spokesperson of the Fiji Police Force, Ema Mua said they are concentrating on Suva at this stage however their program will spread to other centers in Fiji.
Mua said they will be installing several CCTV cameras in the city to curb criminal activities.
Meanwhile, the recent statistics recorded by the Police Force shows a reduction in the crime rate in Suva.
The statistics shows that 1316 crime activities took place in Totogo compared to 2285 last year, 449 criminal activities in Samabula compared to 526 last year whereas Raiwaqa recorded 264 crimes this year compared to 291 in the same area in 2008 and 488 in Nabua area in comparison of 697 last year.
Mua said they hope to get much lower numbers during their Crime Free initiative.
