CCF calls on SDL to stop playing race card
Chief Executive, Reverand Akuila Yabaki said the SDL continues to play the race card just to get attention even though the 2007 Census has revealed that the population of Indo-Fijians and others has decreased significantly.
This comes after a media report where SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuwai said that the People's Charter was the initiative of the Interim Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry.
Yabaki said it is alarming Kinivuwai is so hell bent on inflaming racial tensions, especially when the SDL claims to represent the majority of indigenous Fijians adding that Fijians continue to be represented by bad leaders making this a major problem.
He said civil societies were a part of consultations that created the Charter initiative and adds it is unfortunate that political parties like the National Federation Party and the SDL continue to derail the Charter process.
