CCF Welcomes Outcome From Leaders Forum
CCF Executive director Rev Akuila Yabaki now calls on the Interim Government to resume the President's political dialogue forum process immediately so that the issue of electoral and constitutional reforms can be discussed by political stakeholders.
Yabaki said the May 1st deadline by the Forum for the Interim Government to announce an election date is reasonable as it provides the Interim Government ample time to come up with a date.
He said electoral reform is receiving wider acceptance from local and international stakeholders, however Yabaki said these reforms need to be implemented lawfully under the provision of the 1997 constitution.
Meanwhile, a political Party has urged the Pacific Leaders Forum to come out and listen to the people's will here on the future roadmap of their country.
General Voters Party spokesman, Fred Caine said the communiqué released by the Forum for Fiji to call elections is not a work for the Pacific Island leaders.
