Good news for consumers as the whole sale and retail price of locally made butter will decrease from today.

The Prices and Incomes Board has confirmed that from today, the price of 500 grams of butter will decrease from $4.59 to $3.45.

250 grams of butter, which used to cost $2.34, will now cost $1.78 while 125 grams of butter will cost 95 cents from the previous price of $1.22.

The price reduction is due to the reduction in the cost of the raw material to produce butter.

The PIB advises that the prices will differ in areas depending on the cartage and delivery charges, especially out of the main city and town areas.
