Parents, teachers and school managements are again being asked to work with the new teachers who have been posted to their schools, replacing those that have retired, as Term 2 of the school calendar starts today.

The Education Ministry hopes that all preparations are now in order and students will now walk into their classrooms ready for the next 14 weeks of school.

Education Minister Filipe Bole said that it is going to be a busy term and he hopes that everyone will continue to work together for better results.

School officially starts today.

A total of 776 teachers retired from a total of 414 schools around the country according to the State Services Decree.

Also during the two week break, preparatory workshops were being held for teachers, head teachers and principals who were to take up the positions left vacant by the retirees.

The workshops will continue for the next fourteen weeks.
