The Fiji Rugby Union is expected to have a very busy schedule in the New Year as they countdown to the Rugby World Cup in September and the rest of the 7s series to start in Wellington in February.

To kick start the season will be the fitness test for the Air Pacific Fiji Warriors tour to Australia from January 4th to the 11th.

On January 7th-8th, the second leg of the local 7s tournament will be held in Subrail Park in Labasa, where most of the top local teams will battle it out, a chance for the boys to make their mark in the national 7s team.

On January 21th-22th, the Uprising Fiji International 7s will kick off, featuring some of the top teams like Samurai International, Samoa, Tonga and local teams like Navy, Uprising and Nadroga.

In early February, the Warriors meet the Waratahs in Sydney.

HPU Manager Talemo Waqa said that selection of players to the 7s and 15s teams will solely depend on their performance and they should all prove their selection.
