The suspect also drove away the woman's vehicle, a van registration number DX 172.
It is believed that the victim was returning home with her sister when they were confronted by the suspect at the gate to their house.
They were assaulted and pulled out of the vehicle before the suspects grabbed the bag containing the cash and drove away in the vehicle though no one was injured in the incident.
The vehicle was later recovered by the police.
Police are appealing for information which could assist in the investigation.
Meanwhile, a 24 year old man is in custody after he robbed a taxi driver at about 8am yesterday in Sarosaro road, Kinoya with his wallet containing $35 dollars cash.
The victim was returning after dropping a passenger when he was approached by the suspect and an accomplice. They assaulted the victim and fled with the item.
The suspect was later arrested by the police in Kinoya while his accomplice is still at large.
Police investigations are continuing.
