The Director of Ariana Cars, Abdul Shekeb and former Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority Acting Manager Border Customs, Josefa Marawa who are charged with bribery have appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court.
The alleged incident happened in April and July this year.
Magistrate Joji Bosei-waqa granted strict bail conditions to the two accused.
The accused have been bailed for $2,000 each with two sureties.
Shekeb is charged with two counts of bribery of public servants by persons having dealings with public bodies and three counts of bribery.
Josefa Marawa is charged with two counts of bribery.
The court heard that between the 1st of April and 30th of April, this year, Abdul Shekeb allegedly offered a gift or a favour in the form of a Toyota Harrier vehicle with registration HV 915 to Josefa Marawa a public servant employed as Acting National Manager Border and Customs at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.
It is alleged that Josefa Marawa accepted the Toyota Harrier vehicle from Abdul Shekeb.
The court heard that on the 19th of July 2015 Shekeb allegedly offered a loan of $4,000 to Josefa Marawa.
Marawa allegedly accepted the loan of $4,000 from Abdul Shekeb on the same day.
The case will be called again on the 30th of November.
