Businesses Address HIV/Aids in the Workplace
This was today revealed by Fiji Australia Business Council president, Caz Tebutt Dennis at the signing of a $30, 000 agreement between the FABC and the Australian Government.
The F$30,000 agreement, which acts as seed money for the venture between UNAIDS and FABC, will see a more pro-active role taken by members of the council in addressing AIDS and HIV in the workforce, which, according to Dennis, is very important as the disease affects the main core of the businesses - their workforce.
The coalition will be the 10th that will join the Asia-Pacific Business Coalition on AIDS Network and will provide workplace training and trainers as well for other places.
Australian Ambassador for HIV and AIDS, Murray Proctor said Fiji needed to start at an early stage in order to combat the disease.
There are 256 reported HIV/ AIDS cases in Fiji.
