Despite repeated invitations sent out to the business community to have their views heard about the FEA Tariff Rates, the Commerce Commission has not received a favourable response.
Commissioner Leba Mataitini said they are disappointed with the lack of response, especially since the business community was very vocal when the initial tariff increase was implemented saying that businesses would be severely affected.
Mataitini added that there have even been calls for the business sector to generate their own electricity.
The Commerce Commission oral submission team was in Nausori this morning, whereby only a handful of people turned up to give their submissions.
So far a total of close to 50 submissions have been received by the team in the Western and Central Division.
