Going into the festive season, shoppers around the country will be pleased to learn that business hours will be extended for a more relaxed shopping experience.

Fijivillage spoke to city and town councils who confirmed they will allow businesses to operate longer hours.

Suva City Council CEO Bijay Chand said they will allow their businesses operating until 9pm soon as people will be doing last minute shopping and that there will be more cruise liners coming into port.

Lautoka City Council special administrator Praveen Bala said they will allow all businesses to operate till 8pm from next week until New Years.

Labasa Town Council CEO Jitendra Prasad said they will allow business houses to extend their operating hours starting next week till the 31st of this month

The Nadi Town Council is also allowing businesses to operate till as late as 12 midnight until New Years.

The Sigatoka and Ba Town Councils have approved business houses to open up till 8pm.
