The issuing of bus tickets by bus companies comes into effect from today after bus companies had asked for more time to prepare the tickets following the bus and taxi fare increases.
Land Transport Authority spokesperson Ratu Eroni Volavola confirmed they have been reassured by bus companies that tickets will be issued from today.
Volavola reiterated that people should demand for a bus ticket as there are numerous complaints about overcharging by drivers.
He added demanding a bus ticket will also ensure that the money is going to the bus operators.
Meanwhile, Fiji Bus Operators Association president Zane Dean also confirmed tickets will be issued from today and he asks people to demand for tickets as the ticket will determine whether the person has been overcharged.
