The Fiji Bus Operators Association has acknowledged the Government's assistance on school bus fare program which will go electronic from the second term of school through Telecom Fiji's Electronic Ticketing Solution.
President, Zane Dean said this scheme has made it easy for them and at the same time this will increase the literacy rate of the country.
However their main concern now is the increase of fuel prices.
Meanwhile the new electronic ticketing was announced at the Fiji Bus Operators Association Annual General Meeting over the weekend.
TFL's Manager Commercial Litiana Bainimarama told stakeholders that all systems are in place to implement the electronic ticketing system which will ease the burden on the Education Ministry and individual schools.
Bainimarama explained that the new system will work and monitored through the electronic pre-paid system.
