A 72 year old man old man of Vunivau Labasa died in a horrific road accident yesterday afternoon after the bus he was travelling in went off a bridge in Lekutu, Bua.
Assistant Police Spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed the bus went off the Naselesele Bridge at 2.30 yesterday afternoon and eye witnesses told Police that a punctured tyre caused the accident.
Sokomuri said nine other passengers also sustained injuries in the accident.
Police officers and LTA officers from Labasa are expected to inspect the bus later today.
The driver of the bus is yet to be questioned.
