Fiji's bus fare program is expected to be discussed at the Millennium Development Goal Summit in New York on the outskirts of the UN General Assembly next week.
Fiji will be amongst the 190 countries at the summit and is expected to present its report on how it has so far reached in achieving the goals, which includes the Ending of Hunger, Education for Everyone, Gender Equality, Child Health, Mother's Health, Fighting Disease, Protecting our Environment and Global Partnership.
The UN Millennium Campaign and Advocacy Specialist for the Pacific, Agnes Ali said Fiji has many success stories as far as achieving the 8 goals are concerned, however one such story is the free bus fare initiative which will be talked about during the Summit.
The MDG Summit will also discuss what more can be done in the next five years to achieve the MDG's.
