Bus fare forms being assessed
Education Minister Filipe Bole said schools will soon be issued with coupons in time for the scheduled date of February 15th for this assistance to begin.
He said late applications will be delayed and he is urging parents and students not to panic.
Bole is calling on Head Teachers and Principals to collect their coupons from their District Education Office by this Friday.
He said the Ministry officials are working around the clock to ensure all eligible students receive their coupons in due course.
Meanwhile, Filipe Bole has also made it very clear that only the registered student transport providers with the Land Transport Authority will be paid by the Ministry.
He said all the student Transport providers will have to register with LTA as soon as possible and the schools will be notified of this as well.
He said many students travel by carriers, minibuses or boats to school and it becomes the responsibility of these providers to obtain a license to pick and drop students to and from school.
Bole said without this special license, the Ministry will not be able to redeem claims by unregistered transport providers.
