Police reveal that the driver of the bus which went off the road before tumbling in a 30 metre slope in Vuisiga Village in Vunidawa was talking on his mobile phone when he lost control.
Divisional Manager Traffic Control Eastern Division Inspector Nelson Delailomaloma who is at the scene has confirmed that they have interviewed some eye witnesses who have confirmed that the driver was talking on his mobile and was also speeding.
There were 38 passengers in the bus and three of them who are in critical condition have been transferred from Nausori to CWM hospital while five others are under observation at the Vunidawa hospital.
A team of officers from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) are in Vunidawa to inspect the bus.

A 10-year-old student of Vunidawa is in critical condition at the CWM hospital after the bus she was travelling in went off the road and tumbled about 30 metres at Vuisiga Village, Vunidawa yesterday afternoon.
The Command Centre at the Nausori Police Station had confirmed that there were about 30-40 people in the bus and almost 15 of them sustained injuries.
They were rushed to the Nausori Health Centre where they were treated by nurses and doctors who were called from the CWM hospital.
Only the 10-year-old is in critical condition.
The bus driver who also sustained injuries was treated and sent home.
