A 41 year old bus driver charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death was today granted bail by the Nadi Magistrates Court.
Sumesh Chand was driving a bus that went down a slope in Navutu between Sigatoka and Nadi on Wednesday claiming two lives.
Chand appeared before Magistrate Nazim Sahukhan and was granted $1000 dollar bail with assurity and has been ordered to report to Valelevu Police Station every Saturday and not to interfere with witnesses.
No plea has been taken as Chand wants to engage legal counsel.
The matter has been adjourned to 15th January.
