Consumers will now have to dig deeper as the Interim Minister for Transport has just announced that effective from Monday bus fares and taxi fares will increase.
Manu Korovulavula speaking at a press conference this afternoon revealed that due to the increase in petroleum prices, taxi fares will now increase by 33 percent with bus fares increasing by 10 percent.
Korovulavula mentioned that the prices are just for the time being and are not permanent.
However, while the Interim Minister has announced the increase, he failed to clarify the specifics of the increase and how much people will now have to pay.
