Bus Services Temporarily Suspended
Rakiraki Police have confirmed that Qalau flats, FSC road, Rewasa, Nagoro flats and Drana flats are under a foot of flood waters and roads in these areas are closed to all traffic.
Police confirm that flood water is now receding. Sun Beam Transport also confirms that bus services to these areas are still suspended and they will wait until waters recede.
It has been also confirmed that flood water near market area in the town is also receding.
Meanwhile, the Kings Highway at Nayavu is closed to all traffic due to heavy flooding.
Nausori police confirm the Nayavu bridge along the Kings Highway is closed as the bridge is under 1.5 meters of water.
The Nabuna bridge in Dawasamu is under 4 feet of water while the Waivula flats is also under 4 feet of water and all roads in the area are now closed to traffic.
Police confirm that no homes are affected by the flooding as yet and police teams are out monitoring the situation.
