Bus services have stopped around the country from this morning as members of the Fiji Bus Operators Association protest over increasing costs of operations.

Association General Secretary Cheytanya Latchman confirmed that the decision was made after the Association rejected a proposal from the interim government to assist the operators.

Meanwhile, the Tebara Transport company is the only bus operator that is continuing with their services today.

Managing Director Arvind Maharaj said they decided to allow all of their 48 buses to continue with their services in the Nakelo, Bau, Rewa Delta and the Suva/Nausori corridor this morning.

Maharaj believes further dialogue needs to be held with the Interim Finance Minister.
