The Fiji Bus Operators Association will be having a special meeting with interim Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry this morning to discuss their concerns over operational issues.

President, Pyara Singh said all Executives will be present for the meeting and more information will be revealed later today.

It was revealed on Friday that the Interim Government has agreed to assist Bus Operators in light of the sharp increase in fuel prices in the recent months. It is expected that Chaudhry will meet with the Bus Operators to finalise the assistance package.

Chaudhry earlier said this package is intended to help the bus operators cushion the burden of the rising fuel prices and hopes it will result in bus fares being contained to the present levels.

The meeting is expected to be held at the Finance Ministries office in Suva at 11am.
