The Fiji Bus Operators Association is now awaiting a reply from the Transport Minister on its submission that it may not be able to make any immediate changes to the school bus time tables which will have to go through a long procedure.

The Association said the individual operators will have to make an application for Time Table change to the Land Transport Authority, advertise the application in the dailies allowing for a 14 day period for objections or support, and wait for consideration of the application by the LTA Board.

The Association said where there are no school buses, students travel to school on passenger buses and any changes to accommodate the new school hours is going to affect adults who should be in the office by 8am.

The Association is also calling on the government to consider reviewing the daylight saving program by ending it before April.

The Association General Secretary, Rohit Latchan said that they will only make any further comments after getting a reply from the Minister.
