The Fiji Bus Operators Association has expressed disappointment that an NGO ECREA did not see it fit to consult the Association on why bus fare increase was required but instead embarked on its campaign.
Association President Zane Dean said that such consultations would have been useful as ECREA would have had the benefit to know why the increase in bus fares was required.
He said no one likes an increase in cost however, the Bus Companies will not be able to run its buses at a loss.
Dean said that the Association feels that the change in fare structure has resulted in a workable solution for all stakeholders.
He said the Association shares the concern that everyone feels for the school children and remains willing to work with all stakeholders in a workable solution.
ECREA could not be reached for a comment.
