Senior Fire officials from Suva have been sent to Sigatoka this morning to investigate the bus fire in Volivoli Sigatoka yesterday afternoon.
Chief Fire officer Mark Reid said they are working closely with police and the Land Transport Authority to determine whether there is anything similar which caused bus fires yesterday and last month which claimed the lives of twelve passengers.
He adds it’s too early to determine the cause of fire.
About 50 students had to jump out of their burning bus in Volivoli Sigatoka yesterday afternoon.
It has also been established that there were no fire extinguishers in the bus.
Meanwhile, Sigatoka Police are also investigating an incident in which a bus carrying 20 passengers veered off the road yesterday.
Police say the brakes of the Valley Bus carrying failed at Nacocolevu hill however no one was injured.
