Over 1,500 people in southern Taveuni are badly affected as poor road conditions have forced the bus company to stop services from last Saturday.
One resident Anita Naicker told Village News that school students are worst affected as they will be sitting for annual and external examinations from this week.
Meanwhile, the road supervisor's office in Taveuni confirms inspection of the road was done on Saturday and work is expected to begin today. Officials believe work will be completed by tomorrow.
Pacific Bus Company maintains they will resume bus services once the road is fixed.
