The death toll in the deadly bus fire in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka last Thursday continues to rise.

This is after a 66-year-old woman who sustained more than 40 percent burns passed away at around 10.30am yesterday morning at the CWM Hospital.

Director Operations SSP Waisea Tabakau had confirmed that the woman was from Wainibuku and was in a critical condition when she was transferred to the CWM Hospital.

This now brings the total number of people who have died in the bus fire to 12.

Meanwhile, Police have completed all their ground work in relation to the Raiwaqa bus fire investigations.

Director Traffic SSP Ramend Raj had confirmed they have complied all the statements of those who were in the bus and police are going through it.

According to Raj, investigation will very much depend on the report that will be complied by the two Federal officers from Australia who were here to investigate.

The report is expected to be handed in to the Fiji police in a week’s time.
