Initial investigations of the fatal accident in Nadi yesterday claiming the life of a 22 year old man has revealed that it was due to a burst tyre.
Police say the rear right tyre of the vehicle had burst as the vehicle veered off the road crashing into the mud embankment of the ditch.
Police also confirmed the man was a casual laborer at the Fiji Times and two other passengers were treated for injuries and sent home.
A post mortem is expected to be conducted on the deceased today.
Meanwhile, the road death toll now stands at 25 compared to 31 for the same period last year.
