Sam Burgess was snubbed by his Bath rugby club team mates who did not want a personal farewell by star who has headed back to rugby league in Australia.
The Sunday Times in Britain reported that the snub came at training last week.
Burgess had phoned Bath captain Stuart Hooper about attending training to say goodbye. But he was advised that would not be wise.
Burgess is expected to return to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
