The Confederation of Public Sector Unions believes that the Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune will not have anything concrete to offer to make the unions change their stance on the strike action at tomorrows meeting.
After the Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama and Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry confirmed to Legend FM that they cannot afford to restore the five percent pay cut, Fiji Public Service Association Industrial Advisor Nirbhay Singh said the pay issue is the root cause of their grievances.
Poseci Bune could not be reached for a comment this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has stressed that the government cannot pay the COLA and reinstates the pay cut and called on the unions to change their style rather than just making demands.
