The Bulls held off a late Lions charge to win 30-23 in the Super 15 rugby competition this morning.

The defending champion Bulls outscored the Lions three tries to two.

Bulls flyhalf Morne Steyn kicked six from six attempts at goal in a return to form after an off day in last weekend's loss to the Stormers.

In other Super 15 matches, Blues beat Chiefs 16-13, Waratahs defeated Brumbies 29-22, Stormers thrashed Western Force 51-16 and Reds beat Cheetahs 41-8.
