The Bulls have faced a major setback ahead of their Super Rugby campaign after Springboks flanker Arno Botha will be out for the entire Super Rugby season after seriously hurting the same knee he injured eight months ago.

Botha hurt his left knee in his comeback match from ruptured ligaments in June and will be out for at least six months.

But good news for the Bulls as 2007 World Cup winning Springboks lock Victor Matfield made his comeback off the bench in a pre season game against the Stormers last week.

The Bulls kick off their Super Rugby campaign against the Sharks next Sunday.
