Fiji's sprint queen Makelesi Bulikiobo lost out in the final of the women’s 400 metres event at the Australian Athletics Championship in Brisbane last night.

Bulikiobo finished second in the final after she finished her race in a time of 52.76 seconds. She was beaten by Victoria's Tamsyn Lewis who won the race in a time of 51.44 seconds.

Bulikiobo will today take part in the 200 metres event.

Meanwhile, Fiji Disabled Association's Necani Ratuva finished in 7th place in the men’s 400 metres Ambulant final with a time of 60.21 seconds.

The Australian Athletics Championship ends tonight.
