A revised Budget Appropriation Promulgation for 2008 has been endorsed by Cabinet as a result of the ministerial portfolio reshuffle early this year.

Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry said necessary changes were made to this year’s budget estimates to reflect the revised total budget allocation of each ministerial portfolio together with the permanent secretaries.

He said the implications of the portfolio reshuffle would mean having revised expenditure totals for the affected ministry.

The Interim Prime Minister announced the new ministerial portfolios reducing the number from 16 to 12 with permanent secretaries announced after.
