National Swimming rep, Matelita Buadromo failed to win any medal in the womens 200 metres free style event in the 2016 Oceania Swimming Championship at the Damodar National Aquatic Centre last night.
The 20-year-old came fifth in the event while New Zealand took out the gold medal.
Matelita who also represented Fiji in the mixed 4x50m relay race said coming third in the relay is a sign that the Fiji Swimming team still has a chance to qualify for Rio and they will make it count.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old, Meli Malani came fifth in the mens 50 metres butterfly event.
The Oceania Swimming Championships continues today at the Damodar Aquatic Center and will end on Saturday.
