Team Fiji swimmer Matelita Buadromo finished first in Heat 1 of the Women's 200m Freestyle this morning however she has failed to qualify for the semifinals.
Buadromo finished with a time of 2 minutes 5 seconds to beat India and Ghana in the heats.
She was ranked 40th out of the 42 swimmers that took part in the heats.
The top 16 swimmers qualified for the semifinals.
This is the second Olympic Games for Matelita Buadromo.
Meanwhile, team Fiji Archer Robert Elder lost to Chinese Taipei=s Wei Chung Heng in the elimination round of the Men=s Archery competition this morning.
