The driver of the bus has been taken into custody whose bus went off a bridge in Naselesele, Bua on Saturday afternoon.

Director Traffic, SSP Mahesh Mishra confirms the appropriate charges will be laid against the driver tonight and he will appear in court tomorrow morning.

The bus which went off the road and into a river in Naselesele, Bua claimed the life of 72 year old Shiu Mangal.

According to eyewitnesses, there were some problems in the front tyre of the bus.

Meanwhile, two Primary School students aged 8 and 9 year old are in critical condition at the CWM hospital following two separate road accidents in Nabua yesterday afternoon.

A 9 year old student of Kalabu Housing received serious injuries when she was hit by a private car driven by a 29 year old man on Grantham road when she was returning from school. The driver is in custody.

In another incident an 8 year old student is fighting for his life when he was hit by a vehicle at a pedestrian crossing in Nabua yesterday.

According to police the driver involved fled after the accident, however police have the number plate of the vehicle and he is expected to be arrested soon.
