Last year’s Super Rugby final defeat will drive the Brumbies to seek revenge against the Chiefs.
The Brumbies will host the defending champions in the opening 2014 playoff on Saturday night where Captain Ben Mowen will play his 50th game for his adopted province.
The former Waratahs No.8 will break George Gregan’s mark as the ACT team’s most capped skipper in what could be also his last appearance in the navy, white and yellow.
Brumbies has already beaten the Chiefs 33-9 this year and are looking to repeat their fine form.
The Brumbies will host the Chiefs at 9.40pm on Saturday in the first playoffs while the Highlanders meet the Sharks at 3.05am in the second playoffs on Sunday.
Meanwhile the Crusaders and the Waratahs have already secured their home semifinals.
