The Brucellosis outbreak last year which has seen over two hundred farms affected is now in its final stages of containment with the Ministry of Primary Industries revealing that only a few farms are left to be quarantined.

According to the Ministry, a total of 227 dairy farms were infected and a total of 461 cattle had been culled since the outbreak of the disease.

Permanent Secretary Colonel Mason Smith said that the outbreak was able to be contained through the cooperation of the farmers.

Majority of these farms are located in a small geographical area.
