Brother-in-law under investigation
The Assistant Police PRO Josaia Weicavu said the woman was sleeping in ther room when her sister's husband went to her and allegedly tried raping her.
However he said the girls scream for help drew the attention of the man's brother who went for her assistance and the man ran away.
Corporal Weicavu said police are in the process of apprehending the man.
Meanwhile, a 28 year old farmer will be appearing at the Sigatoka Magistrates Court today for allegedly raping a 12 year old student on Tuesday.
Corporal Weicavu said the man known to the girl asked her to accompany him to the farm to uproot Cassava. On their way the man told the girl that he wanted to have sex with her and when the girl started running towards the house, the is alleged to have carried her to a nearby cane field and raped her.
The girl's parents were in Lautoka doing back to school shopping at the time of the incident. The girl received injuries during the attack.
