British Army officials in Suva have given their full support to the family of Lance Corporal Peniasi Namarua who was shot last week and is currently admitted at the Birmingham hospital in England.

Support officer Captain Roy Zaman confirmed that they have paid airline tickets for Corporal Namarua's brother and mother-in-law who have left the country this morning.

Captain Zaman said Namarua remains in serious condition and his wife is currently with him at the hospital.

Corporal Namarua, who is a Grenadier guard based in Afghanistan, escaped with injuries while five other British Army officers died while on duty.

The family will be met by the Defense representatives tomorrow morning in England.
