An NGO, FRIENDS is calling on people to collect as many good quality local fruits as they can and take it down to their office to get paid for it.
Executive director Sashi Kiran said this income generation initiative started from very poor communities in the western division and now they are at the next stage of growth where their range of food products are well established in the market.
She said many fruits go to waste due to a lack of market however people will not have to complain about that anymore.
