Bread Price Increases Today
The Prices and Incomes Board had announced the retail and wholesale prices of Bread will increase following the increase in the price of Baker's Flour.
Unwrapped long loaf will now cost 70c an increase of 5c while plastic wrapped long loaf will now cost 71c an increase of 4c.
Wholemeal wrapped loaf will cost 43c an increase of 2c and a wholemeal medium wrapped loaf will cost $1.42 an increase of 10c while a wholemeal medium wrapped/sliced loaf will cost $1.45 an increase of 10c.
If there is a global shortage of wheat and prices go up, then naturally bread prices will go up too.
Businesswoman and Hot Bread Kitchen Owner Mere Samisoni said the bread shop will ask for an increase if the flour prices increase again.
Samisoni said with the increase in global food prices, people should also look at alternatives.
