The Nadi weather office has advised people to brace themselves for dry weather conditions in the country.
Director Rajendra Prasad said this month, rainfall has been quite low however some occasional rainfall is expected this weekend.
According to Prasad most places around the country may receive heavy rainfall for shorter periods which is not enough to fill the reservoirs and dams.
He said due to the El Nino effect variable rainfall is expected.
