The Boxing Fiji Association has been dissolved.
The Board of Boxing Commission of Fiji made the announcement this morning after noting that the Boxing Association Fiji continued to administer amateur boxing in Fiji even after the commencement of the Boxing Commission of Fiji Promulgation 2008.
Board Chairman, John Rabuku said under the promulgation the then board should have setup Amateur Boxing Association of Fiji which never eventuated.
Rabuku confirmed since 2008 a lot of things have not been done by the association which includes no registration of professional boxers, officials and promoters and also proper license was not given to overseas boxers who came to Fiji.
He added an interim committee will be set up soon.
Meanwhile, FASANOC President, Vidya Lakhan said the move is disappointing and he will address this with the Minister responsible.
Lakhan added Boxing Fiji will also lose its membership with FASANOC.
