Fiji boxer Joy Ali has suffered a loss in the Pacific Fight for Unity programme in New Zealand.

Ali fought with Samoan champion Faimasasa "Shockwave" Tavui and lost on a split points decision in the 10-round contest on Tuesday evening.

Ali is now concentrating on his next fight for the South Seas middleweight title on September 16th.

Meanwhile, another Fijian boxer competed in that programme, New Zealand based Oscar Talemaira also lost on split points decision to Samoa's Amosa Zinck in the 6-round contest.
